Gordon Cormier’s Insane Stunt Surprised His Co-Stars
Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Aang actor Gordon Cormier shined in the series with his performance. The fantasy action adventure show has brought back the essence of several astounding action scenes in the live-action from the source material. The action, however, left the cast in intense training and practice to make it visually stunning. Cormier’s one back-flip is the prime example of it. But it led to fruition as his co-stars were in awe after seeing the scene where he fought with Bumi.
“That was sick. Dude, that’s ridiculous. You and the backflips Gordon,” Dallas James Liu told Cormier (via Netflix). Cormier responded with details of what happened behind the scenes. “I hate to break it to you guys,” he said before explaining the scene.
“We had like a wire rig set up. I would just drill backflips and they’d be like, ‘We’re gonna go higher on this one, flip slower. Over and over and over again for hours.”
“Having fun all the time,” Liu joked. “No man, that was tiring,” Cormier quipped. Still, Kiawentiio Tarbella and Ian Ousley alongside Liu expressed their fascination with the scene as they were benumbed seeing what Cormier can do for his scenes.

The Broken Hearts Gallery and Ghosts actor, Utkarsh Ambudkar played Bumi, the eccentric king of Omashu. The scene when Aaang met Bumi fascinated Cormier’s co-stars for his performance but Ambudkar got further accolades when Cormier described his experience working with the Free Guy star.
“Utkarsh was so amazing to work with,” Cormier said of Ambudkar (via, Netflix). “He is like the coolest guy,” he added. But the Aang actor was not the only one to be impressed with Ambudkar. The actor and rapper also shined in Tarbell’s eyes.
“I think I was on set for like for school or something. I just stopped by it and watched and like, he really took my breath away. Like, it’s insane,” Tarbell who played Katara said of the Brittany Runs a Marathon star.
“I can’t get over it,” she added. Her co-stars nodded to her statement revealing that seeing the scene the first time was amazing.
