Shōgun episode 8 “The Abyss of Life” is set to be released on Hulu and FX on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. The eighth episode of the 10-part miniseries will pick up right where Shōgun episode 7 “A Stick of Time” left off Saeki’s betrayal of his estranged brother, Lord Toranaga. With only two more episodes left of the acclaimed miniseries following Shōgun episode 8, the celebrated show will air its final episode on April 23, 2024, in what is poised to be an explosive and captivating season finale.

Shōgun episode 7 begins with a young Toranaga defeating a warlord named Mizoguchi in the year 1554, 46 years before the events of Shōgun take place. Shōgun episode 7 introduces Toranaga’s estranged brother Saeki as he tries to form an alliance in anticipation of the upcoming Siege of Osaka he refers to as Crimson Sky. It’s not long before Saeki reveals he has already formed an alliance with Lord Ishido and Ochiba-no-kata, the Mother of the Heir. Shōgun episode 8 should reveal whether Toranaga will actually surrender in Osaka.

Shogun Episode 8 Releases At 12 AM ET On Hulu & 10 PM On FX

Similar to the release schedule of previous Shōgun episodes, Shōgun episode 8 “The Abyss of Life” will be released on Hulu at midnight on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. The episode will become available at midnight Eastern, which means that those on Pacific Time will be able to watch the highly-anticipated episode via Hulu at 9 PM on April 8, 2024, rather than having to wait until midnight.
