The Bridgerton boys met up at a pre-Oscars party.
The Bridgerton heartthrobs are back together.
Despite ditching the cast group chat, it looks like Regé-Jean Page is still close with at least one of his former Bridgerton costars. On March 8, Page was all smiles in a photo with season two’s front man Jonathan Bailey at the CAA pre-Oscars party at Sunset Tower Hotel. The pair had their arms wrapped around each other, both wearing casual T-shirts under their suit jackets like a couple of modern-day rakes.
Both actors have played the show’s leading man on the Regency-era series, with Page kicking things off as the brooding Duke of Hastings in season one, opposite love interest Daphne Bridgerton (played by Phoebe Dynevor). Though many feared Viscount Bridgerton could not fill the void left behind by Simon Bassett, Bailey and newcomer Simone Ashley proved everyone wrong with their fiery chemistry as Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma. It turned out “You are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires” hit just as hard as “I burn for you.”
Regé-Jean Page famously chose to leave the series after season one, much to the outrage of fans and “shock” of executive producer Shonda Rhimes. Back in September 2021 the actor also revealed he had “respectfully exited” the cast’s WhatsApp group chat as well. “I didn’t want to put them in an awkward situation where they had to kick me out,” the actor told British GQ, noting, “The universe has expanded. So I’m no longer in it.”
Unlike Page, Jonathan Bailey will be sticking around for season three, though Kanthony’s storyline will take a backseat to the friends-to-lovers arc between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughan). Let’s just say that the Bridgerton glow-up is real, and fans are ready for the show’s return on May 16.
