BRIDGERTON fans have been bursting in their boots for a new season, and finally, Netflix has delivered a steamy nail-biting teaser clip for series three.

Netflix subscribers were left feeling hot and flustered after the streamer teased two trailers for the forthcoming season.

The season three tagline for Bridgerton reads: “Even a wallflower can bloom,” has convinced fans that there might be a romantic plot in store for Penelope in the Gossip Girl-style period drama about Regency London high society.

In one of the clips, Penelope, played by Nicola Coughlan, exchanged lusty looks with Colin, played by Luke Newton, before she seductively gushed: “Your eyes – a most remarkable shade of blue.

“And yet, somehow, they shine even brighter when you are kind. I’d… I might say something like that if you were a suitor.”

A gobsmacked Colin stared briefly into her eyes before gulping his wine and replying: “Well, uh, that was rather direct.”

In season three, fans will be witnessing Colin mentoring Penelope – who is living a double life as author Lady Whistledown – as she tries to get away from her mother and sister’s grasp.

After fans of the show watched the first look into the upcoming season, they took to X(Twitter) and gushed over what was to come.

One user penned: “IT’S TOO EARLY FOR ME TO BE HYPERVENTILATING.”

How am I supposed to wait 104 days?!

Another shared, “I’m on the floor”, as a third chimed, “SHAKING SCREAMING THROWING UPPPP omgg this is good already. we’ve been waiting since forever.”

Other Bridgerton viewers had their reservations, as one quizzed: “I’m sorry, @netflix, but how am I supposed to wait 104 days – a HUNDRED AND FOUR days – after seeing this delicious clip of Penelope and Colin being absolute rom-com gold for the rest of S3? Like, how?”

According to the official season three synopsis, Penelope will be entering the series, finally ready to put to bed her longtime crush on Colin, but that doesn’t mean she’s done with love.

Instead, the young woman has decided it’s time to find a husband who will be accepting of her secret life as Lady Whistledown.

The rest of the synopsis reads: “Lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly.

“Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger.

“But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.

“Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season.

“But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly.

“Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise, who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.”

Back in 2021, Netflix announced that a third and fourth season of Bridgerton had been renewed, which means there is plenty more drama in store.

Bridgerton season three premieres May 16, with part two landing on June 13.
