Certain plot beats that define Superman might be present in a particular Targaryen, making Henry Cavill’s casting as him a genius move.
Aegon the Conqueror came to Westeros after the Doom of Valyria. With him, the Targaryen monarch brought the most devastating power to Westeros: Dragons. Given that he came from a destroyed civilization to a new world and introduced a power that few could stand up to, neatly equates the character with another: Superman.

While it might seem like a stretch at first, Aegon the Conqueror may have the shades of a Superman deconstruction, much like Omniman, Goku or Homelander. However, given there is some merit to this analysis, Henry Cavill could find himself donning a different red cape, something that fans have been wanting to see for a while.
Here is why Aegon is a deconstruction of Superman
Aegon the Conqueror was born to one of the weaker houses of Valyria, the most advanced civilization in the world of Game of Thrones. However, as luck would have it, the civilization fell in the wake of a volcanic eruption, that destroyed it completely.
However, before his destruction, Aegon and his sisters fled Valyria in search of a new home, atop their dragons. Flying away from dying home with powers unmatched in the world is very reminiscent of Superman, in fact, the origins stories perhaps match word for word.
However, here is where the differences begin to show themselves. Most deconstructions of Superman vary in one key way: Their upbringing. More often than not the lack of figures like Ma and Pa Kent is what sets the analogue on a path separate from the one Superman has taken.
Unlike the Man of Steel, Aegon goes on to become a conqueror, having been raised in a society that values might and purity over altruism and collaboration. This causes the character to become a conqueror, to use his power to cement his status rather than to use it to help the people in his new home.

Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia
Henry Cavill has been cast as multiple Superman archetypes by fans for multiple properties, such as Hyperion or The Sentry in the MCU, Omni-Man in the upcoming Invincible live-action film, and now, Aegon Targaryen in a Game of Thrones spin-off.
We already know what Cavill looks like with a white wig, thanks to Netflix’s critically acclaimed epic fantasy series, The Witcher. The series effectively dressed his character in costumes that could double as something you would find on a Westerosi set.
Cavill is currently working on bringing a Warhammer 40,000 adaptation to the screen, something that makes Game of Thrones look downright Romantic, but the chances that the actor will tie himself to another major franchise look grimm, given his experience with the previous studios and other big budget properties
However, if a potent enough opportunity presents itself with an iron-clad contract, Cavill might find himself dawning a different red cape, but with a completely separate morality.
