The cast of Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ was too stunned after fake series cancelation prank.

Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has officially been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3. While the show received mixed reactions from fans, it managed to climb to the number-one spot on the streaming platform’s list.

The main cast includes Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Elizabeth Yu, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, and the show follows the adventures of 12-year-old Aang as he masters the four elemental powers to save a world at war.

Gordon Cormier’s Priceless Reaction To Fake Avatar: The Last Airbender Cancelation

During a video call meeting, the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender were present to hear an announcement made by Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Fire Lord Ozai. The actor started the conversation by building up the tension and increasing the anticipation of the cast members (via Netflix):

“One of the reasons we’re getting together is because I was actually talking to Netflix yesterday, and I was asking the same question. They did share a bit of news with me that they asked me to share with you, and it’s kind of sensitive so I think that’s why they asked me to do it, and it may not be the news that we are expecting.”

He later broke the bad news that they are not getting a Season 2. The cast members looked dejected as they tried to process the information.

“It was a very special show for me, and I think it was for everyone else and so I am sorry if this is unexpected, but they are not able to announce a Season 2 for our show.”

As if to ease their pain, Kim finally announced the real deal, and that they are getting not one but two seasons more.

“But they did say something else to me that I think was really important. They said they’re not able to announce a Season 2 because they would like to announce Season 2 and 3.”

The young actors burst into excited screams, while Gordon Cormier, who played Aang, could not help but curse at Kim for pranking them.

“Daniel, screw you, why would you do this to us? That was evil, man.”

Dallas Liu, who played Prince Zuko, quipped, “I checked the numbers this morning,” after he was shocked at the revelation of the show’s fake cancelation. Kim ended the meeting by stating that they would be seeing more of each other over the next few years.

What To Expect In Season 2?

Season 2 will most likely follow the events in Book 2 of the original animated series where fans will witness Aang learn to master earthbending. Fans already know that the second installment will introduce significant characters, one of which would be Toph, a powerful earthbender.

As the series has only been freshly renewed, many important details about the cast and the story remain under wraps. The announcement of the season renewal, though, is enough to keep fans hyped up for the next two installments.
