Research has suggested three minutes of sex is the benchmark for an ‘adequate’ intimate encounter – but the Duke manages an average of just 37 seconds on screen
TV star Rege-Jean Page may have become an instant sex symbol thanks to his saucy turn in the hit Netflix show, Bridgerton.
But according to sex analysts, the hunky 31-year-old actor’s character, Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, is a bedroom flop.
Fans of the sizzling period drama watched the Duke romp his way through the first season of the show – which debuted on the streaming service last month.
But according to researchers, the onscreen bonks lasted an average of 37 seconds during the course of the first eight episodes of the show.

According to a 2008 study, the benchmark for “adequate” sexual intercourse is a full three minutes.
Anything below is deemed to “warrant clinical concern”, according to the research published by The Sun.
The outlet reports that the Duke’s longest sex scene took 62 seconds – and the most brief of the six on-screen romps lasted just 22.
While the character is also accused of not performing oral sex on his on-screen wife, played by Phoebe Dynevor.
Phoebe herself drew attention in the show for a masturbation scene – which she previously explained was a challenge to film.
The 25-year-old told Glamour magazine: ““That was the hardest scene to shoot.
“That’s saying something, because there were a lot of difficult scenes to shoot. You feel very vulnerable in those scenes.
“We did the intimate scenes like stunts—we blocked them out, so you have yoga balls in between you and all sorts of things that never make you feel exposed in any way. You always feel safe.
“I’d rehearse with Regé so much that we both knew what we were doing. It felt very practical.”
A second series of the hit show is already being filmed in the UK after the first proved a huge smash for Netflix – who claim a record 82 million have tuned in to watch it.
